I need to import a file to access 2000 to import to a dos based program via an asci text commas deliomited file. I currently have the file in txt and xls formats. How do I convert this file?

You can import quite a few different kinds of files directly into Access db's - have a look in the help file.
No one here would want to discourage you from posting onto this site - so don't take this the wrong way. This might not be the best forum to ask that question in - DCOM isn't really much to do with MS Access. You might want to explore the forums list a little and see what's there.
