Here's the sitch:

We have been creating pdf's from some in house templates (WOrd) for years, with no problems, really. Now we are rolling out XP, and suddenly there is a key problem!
When the Word doc is converted to pdf, the resulting font in the pdf is too large, causing major formatting problems, and pushing the number of pages up from 16 to 20.
Problem is that one of our XP machines actually manages this task without problems! Can anyone help? We have compared settings all over the place between machines that work (Win98 and one XP machine) and the machines that don't work...
Really desperate,

Will

Right... I've discovered that when you set the Default printer to the Distiller or the PDF Maker, the result is the "changed" document appearing in Word even before I make the PDF. This suggests that somehow the process is changing the fonts, or something... what I can't figure out:
1. How is it doing this? (so I can fix it!)
2. WHy does it work on that one machine fine?????

Please help...

Will

This is a known problem with Microsoft Word. It reformats the document based on printer selection. Not much you can do. If your plan is to display information in pdf then its best to select distiller as you printer during the creation of the document.

Salright now... thanks! :)

We purchased some ps fonts from a competitive source, and are now okay!

Thanks for your reply though! :)
