I hope this makes sense..Opened an image in illustrator that I have previously desaturated in photoshop...Live Traced the image on color 6 so I now have a picture with varying tones of black to grey...is it possible to change these tones to different colors with out coloring them with the paint fill bucket individually.So if I pick a color from the pallette it will change it to tones of that color.
 
...in the trace function you have the option to send the colors created by the trace to the swatches palette...

...under the 'max colors' input field is the check box to achieve this function...

...when listed in the swatches palette as Tracing 1, 2 etc, you can double click each color and change the values as they are global colors...

...or you can use the select > same command when the trace has been expanded into fill shapes...
