Help with writing an App.

First I want to say thanks to all who help me with this and I have done alot of searches for this.

I am writing an app that will;
Copy and rename 2 files (those files have to be copied and renamed before the launching of the application-X)

Launch application-X with those 2 new files,set on a timer
to run say 45 minutes, then shutdown and restart.

I do not need a timer window. The application will not launch without those 2 files.

I'm not asking anyone to build this for me, but I will need alot of help.
So far my app will launch the application-X, but using the default files and no timers.
