I'm trying to set up a Windows network between a desktop (XP Home SP 2) computer and a a laptop (XP Pro SP 2) computer so that I can share files between the two. Network config is:
dsl-->dsl modem-->1 port DLink router/Voip telephone adaptor --> Linksys 4 port wired + wireless router--> ethernet connection to both desktop and laptop
I've run the Windows network config on both laptop and desktop and created a workgroup called OFFICE_NET. It appears as though both computers can "see" each other (from "View workgroup computers" in My Network Places), but when I try to open up the laptop from the desktop or vice versa, I get an error "//Laptop unavailable. You might not have permission to use this network resource."
In both cases, I've been logged in as administrator when running the network wizard.
Any suggestions on how to fix?
Thanks.
