Hi

I know this is not exactly Photoshop, but I'm new to this so please be patient.

I'm using Adobe Premier 6.0
My system is 2.8Ghz Pentium 4 with 533 FSB, 512Mb of 1066Mhz Rambus, Asus P4T533-C Motherboard, and a 120Gb Western Digital with 8mb buffer.

After recording DV footage through a Firewire card, I try to play back the file in Premier 6.0, but instead of getting crisp playback, I get a jerky 1 frame a second and no sound in the monitor window. The same thing happens when trying to edit, it just won't play 'smoothly'!!! What can I do to fix this problem? Any help will be greatly appreciated. And, if you can't help do you know someone who can? Thank you.

Hi Puremotion,

I had the exact same problem you did when I was importing from a GL-1. The problem was due to the firewire cable still being plugged in. Import your footage then unplug your cable then edit and do playback and that should work for you.

Hope this helps!
