Ok i am having some issues

I am running Fedora Core 3 with Frontpage Server Extentsions. Everything was working great until i decided to do updates for fedore today. One of the updates was for httpd. After i did the update i now get an error message that stats "The server appears to not have FPSE installed." it says more but it is the general error. Is there a way to get the server to recognize the FPSE. I have tried to uninstall the Extensions and reinstall but it still says the same thing.

Lastly why does doing an update cause problems with previous configuration. I know in windows it usally doesnt cause problems, or am i just not doing things properly on my linux box.

Thanks for the help

Does the FPSE contain shared libraries? If they're not compatible with the apache binary, they would not load. Check your log files.

I doubt it has shared libraries but i will check...it is just a default install on everything

Did you double-check your /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf file and make sure the <frontpage.so, whatever the filename is> line is present and uncommented in the LoadModule section? Maybe upgrading the package replaced your customized httpd.conf file (usually rpm will save it as yourfile.rpmsave in the same directory).

I checked and the load Mod is not commented out. Does the stuff happen to everyone after every update or is it just me. I still have not been able to get Frontpage back up.
