I am trying to upgrade UC Module from 9.0.1 to 9.0.4 using USB drive. I setup the USB drive per the documents, and I plugged in an HDMI cable to watch the upgrade. The upgrade starts and after 5 minutes I see on the screen the following message:

what type of media contains the installation image:
Local CD/DVD
Hard drive
NFS directory
URL

It just stops there. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

ensure that you have the correct image loaded and make sure with MD5 check that it is a good copy.

Are you flashing the entire drive or are you trying an upgrade?

Upgrades sometimes don't work well so we always flash the entire unit instead. backup and restore takes minutes if it is not too much data and you are better off with the entire image loading.

Thanks westi for the reply. I am using a full upgrade. My copy is good but I think my problem is with this step in the USB drive setup:
"8.A number of files need to be copied to a new location on the USB2 memory key. Select the files syslinux.cfg and
avaya_autoinstall.conf and copy them to the top level (root) folder, overwriting any existing files with that
name."

I did not see a root folder, and I was not sure if I should create one. I only found one "avaya_autoinstall.conf" file and its in the USB directory. Thanks again.

I have a working R9 USB key here and it is basically a copy of the ISO content. Not that I have spent more than a couple of minutes going through it because it worked and I don't want to jinx it.

The root folder isn't a folder literally called "root", it is the top level. And that's my polite answer to a "programmer".

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

You need to do a full install as 9.0.3 requires that although you go to 9.0.4
Make backups of VMPro and One-X Portal.
Use Unetboot to create the USB device.
Copy the syslinux and autoinstall files on to the root and shutdown the UCM.
Put the USB device in to the UCM and hold the top button until the orange leds go out.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!
