does anyone know how to create open or read a tnx file? i would like to automate my price changes and i need to figure out how to do this in aloha. i think i need to figure out more about the .tnx files and then i will be able to run them from a program or command line. thanks

i ment .txn files. they are the files aloha created when you change a price

I haven't tried this but maybe you could experiment since you're sounding adventurous.

If you open the sub.dbf using Excel located in the Aloha\data directory, you will find all your sub menus listed in columns and prices in rows.

I guess you could edit prices there, save, and copy back to data. Actually, copy the sub.dbf file to Newdata then refresh, this will automatically copy to data and restart all the terms.

I've never done this and I don't know if it will work. Of course backup data and newdata first. Do this before any live business in case of screw up.

that would be ok. but i dont want to have to restart the terminals. i want to right a program that changes prices randomly and then figure out a way to change them in aloha automatically

.txn files are created when a credit card is run. Where are you finding these files. They should not be editted.

What version of Aloha?
Are you wanting to use terminal services on the fileserver?
