Hi. I'm doing a report from a table in Access. The table contains information about my company's investment projects. Our projects is divided into two different project categories; Production or Distribution. Therefore, in the report all the Production projects should be listed first and after that the distribution projects should be listed.

I understand that I have to choose project category as priority one in the second step of the report wizard. However when the report is done, the Distribution projects come first and THEN comes the Production projects and I want it the other way around.

Is there some way I can fix this?

I know many of you probably laugh at this question but I'm a newbee to Access and this is my first job....so have mercy please?

Hi Caroline,

Go into Design mode of the report. Right click on the black square at the top left of the report (next to the ruler at the top). Select the Sorting/Grouping option. There should be a line in there showing Project Category, change the sort order to Descending instead of Ascending.

This will work in this instance because you only have 2 categories, if you had more then it would become a little more complicated.
