Help with the Nortel 5520 switch

Hello,

We have a reception area in our office that has 2 PC's and we want to make sure only these 2 PC's can get on the network. I suggested that we bind the network port to the Mac Address of the PC so that no other PC can be used in that port, can this be done on the Nortel 5520's?

I am a Cisco engineer, but don't know how to do this on a Nortel switch, I ahve command line access and access to the Device Manager GUI.

Maybe you have solved this since your question but here's the commands:


mac-security auto-learning aging-time 0 ==> making the entries permanent
mac-security learning-ports 1-48 ==> learning on all interfaces exept uplinks
mac-security learning enable snmp-trap enable ==> allow the learning
mac-security intrusion-detect enable ==> enabling intrusion detection
mac-security intrusion-timer 120 ==> shutting the interface for 120 seconds if a violation occur
mac-security enable ==> enable mac-security globaly


Once your MAC are learned

mac-security learning disable ==> prevent the switch from learning new mac-address
int fast 1-48
mac-security port 1-48 enable
exit
