I suppressed the default interface for my database that I am publishing via IWP. I would like the users to be able to make changes. The problem is that the submit changes button is on the interface. Is there a script step that i can use to submit the changes via a button? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
John

.....just to warn you..IWP is not good AT ALL...and the more u work the more obsticales u will face...I would suggest you go with CustomWP if u have knowledge of HTML....
Scripts over the web -- not advised IN ANY CASE.....unless u have 5-6 visitors MAX...timing of scriptover the web can mess up your data integrity...
anyhow...

"The problem is that the submit changes button is on the interface."

--not sure I read this right....the problem is after you submit the changes to the record....or the problem is in the "submit button" that u would like to remove/edit.....
All the best!

Yes, I do realize the IWP is not the ideal solution but I don't have the time to dedicate to CWP. I would like to get to it but it is not high on the priority list.

I would like to know if I can create my own submit changes button. When I suppress the interface, I need to create all of my navigation buttons and my own submit button if possible. I am not sure if it is but I thought I would ask and see if anyone had done this.

Thanks for the help!
John

Hello, here is what I did.
Create a script called submit, define the sript for the "exit record/ request". make yourself a button and assign the script to that button.
Exit Record is the same as Submit as far a IWP is concerned.
Hope this helps.

nice bryandillon!

just a
side note: running script over the web is not adivsed due to FMs timing issue as sripts are fired 1 at the time per user/session(unless you have a few users only try NOT to use scripts.....I know it kinda kills the whole IWP but you can test it and see how it performs....make sure that "Error Capture is ON"...keep checking your log files....in other words "sripts are not stable- so watch them")
