Help with SMTP Problems

IPO 10.1.0.1 with Embedded VM, the voicemail to email has stopped for some reason. After a reboot and leaving a message in a mailbox that is set to Copy I get the following result in Monitor. The user of course receives the email on their phone but nothing is going to email. The IT guy of course says "no problem on my end", so I don't know where or why this is failing.

Check the email server with telnet or putty. Also make sure that the IP address of the IPO can reach the SMTP server. Are you using the correct port and credentials for the SMTP server? I just tested telnetting to the IP address and got no response.

Try pinging the SMTP server from system status.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think this line above says the IP office can connect to the SMTP server;

Thanks for all of your input. Turns out it was a port issue. I was given Port 25 but it should have been Port 1025.
