Hello all awesome techs!

OK, I have hopefully an easy one that's driving me a bit crazy.
I have a customer with a Partner ACS R6. It's a restaurant and all they want to do is add an AA to answer incoming calls and send to the proper extensions. No sweat, right??

So, It's a simple set up:
I have added a Partner messaging module and a 5 module case. I have added the messaging module in slot 1 (to be able to add the AA for day and night messages). There are only 4 phones in use.
Now here's where I think I may have gone wrong...
I found an old thread on here that said to pool the sets do this:
Create a calling group #502
call it group 4 (They added it would be Ext. 74)
add Ext. 11 and 12, assigned.
So, #502-4-11-1, then 12-1.
Then in Partner Messaging I created mailbox 74 "with a phone"
Then in the ACS I looked at #306 to make sure EACH voice mail port pointed to itself.
There's no message recorded on 74 since they will answer the calls during business hours.

I then set up #206 to cover the lines. I had to add them to group 7 to get the messaging module to answer the calls. I'm wondering if this is where things went wrong? Now it will answer the call just fine the first call. The second call it will answer, transfer, then when the handset is picked up the user hears an auto dial like its calling out. The next call gets a fax tone! Then it rings through. Crazy.

Selector code 1 transfers to (2) extensions at the "To Go" counter, in this case Ext. 11 and 12. Selector code 2 transfers to the Hostess stand for reservations. That's it.

I give up. So, if anyone has suggestions, I'd sincerely appreciate it!

I'd like to upgrade them eventually. I have about a dozen Partners still out there. I'm wondering if the Avaya Office IP is a good upgrade for everyone. Any opinions would also be appreciated! Thanks!

Assign group 7 in #206 for lines. Assign the vm ports in #505. Assign the delay rings in #506. Setup the ext's you want in the calling group with #502. Assign your selector code to transfer to the calling group 71-74. Good luck

Go through #505-7 for Ext. 10 through 17, set then all to 2-Not Assigned. Then do the same for 22 through 57, 76, 77, and 78. ALL of those need to be 2-Not Assigned. If you only have a 2-port license card, set 20 and 21 to Not Assigned as well. Everything else you've laid out sounds fine

Commshark and Tommy aka. "Triple T", thanks for answering!

Guys, thanks so much! Turned out there were a couple of other extensions assigned in #505 that should not have been (13 and 14). All is working now except I need to extend the set rings to at least 8. They're all 2 rings at the moment.
I thought it was the VMS cover rings #321?
It is not working. I set all the Ext. to 8 rings, The extensions still answering at 2.
Ideas on what I may have missed?

Thanks~!

I'm working out of my home office with this. I only have one dial tone incoming.
I was in the middle of setting up a completely different system to determine if maybe I have a flaky processor. I have a two of everything here.

OK, the 2nd processor is working with the VMS cover rings. Not sure why the other is not...

Is there a way to have the extension ring with out going to a mailbox? I think I already know the answer, but I thought I'd ask.

OK, Just tried what you suggested with #310. Did not work. Good idea though.
Here's whats happening:

AA answers. Calls are transferred properly. VMS cover is set for 9 rings but all extensions answer after 5 rings

FYI, Extensions 11 and 12 are part of the call pool for Group 4 (Ext. 74). This goes to VM after 5 rings. (This is Selector code 1)

Extension 13 answers after 5 rings and is forwarded to Ext. 10 which rings 5 times and then the message says its being forwarded. Then it rings again at Ext. 10 (Selector code 2)

Transfer Return Rings, #105 controls the number of rings in the calling group (x74) until it returns to the VM system
VMS Cover Rings, #321 controls the number of rings at a single extensions before covering to its mailbox
Automatic VMS Coverage, #310 controls if a individual extension covers to its mailbox

Guys, sorry this last response is so late!

Everything is working great. Thank you TouchToneTommy and Commshark. I really appreciate your help!
You guys are awesome!
