I have a site I just aquired with an Opt11. The site as one of the SEB Modems and I have the password but when I modem in with Hyperterminal under any Terminal setting (VT52,VT100 and so on) I just get a blank screen. I have tried typing the password even though the screen is blank and I get nothing. SHOULD I get a prompt when it first answers AND is there a certian way I have to setup Hyperterminal so it will recognize that style modem. I have modemed in to many switches with regular modems before but just no one like this.

Viper,

You will get a blank screen. In CAPS, you need to enter the SEB modem password. One you put that in, you should get the "Ok, You are now transparent to port 1" The the logi prompt. You will not see the password or anything on the screen before the SEB password is put in.

I'm not sure what your setup requires but I emulate a VT100 with Zmodem and a baud of 1200.

Hope this helps

Rick

I used to use Hyperterminal until I found that I could not access Meridian Mail. I switched over to Procomm instead. My settings that I used for Hyperterminal were:

Port Speed 115200
Data Protocol Standard EC
Compression Enabled
Flow Control Hardware
Data Bits 8
Parity None
Stop Bits 1
Modulation Standard
Emulation VT52

Sometimes the SEB modem needs clearing before it recognizes the SEB modem password. Hit Enter before you enter your passcode, enter the passcode, and hit Enter. You should now be able to log in.

I have to hit "enter" after entering in the password. Have you tried that?

I have a site where i have to enter the seb than enter than enter the seb again and enter again

THANK YOU TO ALL THAT HELPED. I had to hit Enter then enter the password in all caps then hit Enter. I also used VT100. That worked great. Once again thank you to all.
