Help with scripting Excel to Extra

Okay. I'm new to Extra and my area wants to screen script data from Excel to the online screen in Extra. I'm totally lost on how code this. Should I do it from Excel and use VBA to do it or should I write code in Extra to actually script it? Could I get examples? Also perusing the forum I see problems with syncing Extra to Excel when Extra does the big "X". I'm also wondering how I get the macro to work on when there's an error on the screen for one of my values. Anyway, help would be great. Thanks all!

Just wanted to add, I run Extra 6.4. I figured it might make a difference.

I'd certainly use VBA in Excel to pilot Extra.
