Well I have just put on Win xp and now my Rockwell/conexant HSF soft 56k modem cant connect at anything more than 28.8k where as with win 98/se it was connecting at 40k or more and it is also disconnecting me every 10 minutes or so and that wasnt happening before either.
I have tried finding drivers to fix this solutions but either im really useless or they dont exist. I have contacted my ISP and they gave me a string to type in to the advanced section of my Modem but it then wont let me connect at all.
If anyone out there has any solution besides either getting a new modem or going back to win 98/se I would love to the help.

CHeers in advance

Try a driver from my modems page.
In the extra settings box, try: S202=32S95=1+MS=V90,1

Cheers,
Jim
