I am currently running Solaris 2.7 on an E450 server. When I connect to the system and do a "who am i" command, I get my FULLY qualified domainname of my PC.

Example, normally it should read "156.87.33.27", instead I am getting, "PCM21334.xxx.xxxx.com".

What am I doing wrong?

Most people would PREFER that result! ( I do)

So what happened is that someone has probably correctly delegated the reverse IP range for that network to the Windows DNS server. Since the Windows DNS allows dynamic update, the reverse IP queries are correct.
