Help with resizing rectangles in Word 97

Would anyone know what would cause my rectangles\Circles and Arrows not to be able to be resized by draggin any corner?? No matter how I try to resized them they alway move the same size either up or down. I'm comfused. Help

The last time I resized a rectangle was last Friday and now I can't.

Whats the document?

Maybe something to do with your normal.dot, or you may have set certain parameters on the pictures themselves. Have a look at the Format of the object.

Can't think of anything obvious at the mo, but will let you know if I do.

It was weird because I use it all the time to create
flow-charts and I was off last friday and monday it was not working. I have not done anything to change it, but I'll check my normal.dot
