I have been using Outlook for my home email for years. I have been using 2003 since it came out and just got a new PC and installed it on the new PC. I am trying to copy over my pst file with no luck. This is what I did: Installed Outlook 2003, when I opened it, it was looking for a pst file so it opened a box to look for it. (I had deleted everything out of that folder) I then copied my pst file into that folder and clicked on it. It opened, "but", I now get a duplicate set of personal folders and sub-folders. All of the mail is duplicated, and I can't delete the duplicate. I tried to delete one of the sub-folders, but it deleted the original as well. How can I get my mail and all of my folders into my new install with duplicates? My contacts didn't duplicate.
Thanks in advance!
Annette

This is typical of a corrupt user profile, not a problem with the .pst. Create a new profile using the Mail options in Control Panel.

Setup your email account in Outlook and then import the pst into Outlook (file- import/export etc) as opposed to putting it in a folder and trying to open it from there.
The folder structure from the pst should be recreated in Outlook without the duplicates (you can tell it not to import duplicates). Importing integrates it into the existing account... opening the pst from within outlook will treat it as an archive file for instance.
