I pasted a graphic into coreldraw, and because it sees it as an rgb image, it will not let me add an outline. I need to have a hairline red outline around it. I can use corel photo paint's magic selector tool to snag the entire graphic (a special type and size of letter) but I cannot figure out how to get it back into corel draw with a hairline red outline. This is desperately needed for a client, any help would be seriously appreciated. Thank you.

In corel draw convert your bitmap to rgb with transperant background. Select trace bitmap option = (corel trace). Convert to black and white. Trace center line. save trace results or just x out. It should send your outline back into corel draw. Highlite the object. Then view object properties, colors pallette & layers docker. This should let you change any part of color, curves or thickness. You might have to ungroup some things to edit.

Have a look at Powerclip. If you can generate the required shape as vector the bitmap can be 'Powerclipped' in that shape and from there the outline properties can ba changed as any other vector shape.

Powerclip? That must be on A newer version than I have. Corel v9?

Power clip has been around for years look under effects in Draw, it can be one of the most useful functions there is.

I'll ditto Brushman here - Powerclip is the way to go... and it's been there since at least v7.
