Hi!
I have some name and address data stored on 1.44 MB floppy discs.
This data was typed onto a pre-windows machine which was dedicated to address storage (called an ASI Sprinter) made I think by SANWA. I believe that it was stored in ASCII format to print out on a dot matrix and is most probabaly in some version of cp/m.
I want to convert this data to say a delimited file, then import this to Excel and finally into my contact manager (ACT!).
My problem is that when I put any of the old floppys into my A: drive of my current windows based PC, the disc just spins and a request to format the disc comes on screen (which if I am correct would erase the data stored on the disc).
Becase of the unknown file format my computer cannot "see" any of the data and therefore I cannot export it to be converted to a text delimited file.
Can anyone offer any suggestions?
Is there cp/m to windows conversion software or how should this be done?
Best wishes
Jonti
