help with new menu idea please

Hello,
I've come up with a menu idea of which i have made a basic mock up to show how the concept works.

and then click on the black box to start.

I'm not much of a programmer, but i would like to know how hard it would be to make this menu in a dynamic way using scripting rather than making each stage by hand??
Or are there any menus already available which do a similar thing that I could use as a starting point?
(I plan to include a futher drill down set of buttons, so there would be three sub levels in all)
