Hi I Have a problem with my network where I have a domain name now I'm trying to add 2 new laptop on the domain and desktop none of them can access the domain name but i could ping the server i could get on line where the cable is on the server but can't join the domain with any new computer anyone can help me?

Have you set the DNS servers in TCP/IP on these clients to point to the server?

Ash.

The computers find the Domain Controllers through service records in DNS. If using DHCP, use the DHCP options to specify your DNS servers. If not, specify them on the clients in their TCP/IP settings. Make sure you have SRV records in your DNS for your domain controller. Are you using netbios over TCP/IP? If so, specify the netbios name of the domain you wish to join. If not, specify the FQDN domain name. i.e. the domain controller is server.domain.lan but the server netbios name is myserver and the netbios domain name is mydomain. if using netbios over tcp/ip, then you log into the domain "mydomain". if not, you log into the domain "domain.lan". If you are getting a screen asking for a name and password while attempting to join, then you must supply a domain account with the rights to add the computer, i.e. mydomain/administrator
