help with moving files they corrupt

hi dont no if this is the right form but here goes
i have windows 98se with 2 hard drives when i move a exe file form one drive to the other it corrupts it, it does the same form the cd-rom.any ideas ? so far i have reformated changed memory and tested for virus any help please
 
One drive formatted in Fat16 and the other Fat32?.......not that it should......but I've taken info from one disc (on floppy/cdr/cdrw) to another, and it can't read it........and this is with both systems exactly the same......
How are you moving the file?

Oh......and you're in the right forum only you've posted the message under "helpful hints"....instead of "Question".....no biggy...

hi thanks for that ive checked and both drives are fat 32 i copy and paste the file over and it corrupts anthing over 500mgs its got me i think its the board but everything else works fine i just dont get it!!! i no the file is fine as it works fine on my friends pc any other ideas will try anything
 
Are you saying 500 Megabytes......what executables are those...?
Your memory allocation may not handle it......Need system specs....

Disable write caching on the drive, if enabled.
