Help with making form with SUBMIT button

Hi Guys!

I made a cheesy looking page for this question on

http://www.geocities.com/mastersed/

I have 2 submit buttons that act as a voting poll. What is this process called in order for me to successfully show the results on the page?

What am I researching to find the answer? forms, scripts, etc..?

I am trying to make voting buttons that you would see on espn.com.

You need a program to run in the background to process the form input. Geocities probably limits you to CGI/Perl scripts.
