Situation is this. Remote users connect via VPN through firewall into corporate domain. Everything appears to work fine, excpet when they browse the company Intranet. When they click on certain hyperlinks that are accessing folders with excel and word documents, nothing happens. Other areas of the Intranet are fine, and office based users have no problems. Remote users are using IE5, and I have checked relevant folder permissions etc, and all seems as it should be. Anyone have any suggestions where to check.

What happens when a local user accesses one of the Hyperlinks....??? Does it launch the document within a copy of Excel/Word...???

Does the remote session just hang...??? Can you see if any errors are occuring in Event Viewer...??? If you are applying policies are they are applied differently for remote users...???

When our users click on the hyperlinks, nothing happens. There is no response from the hyperlink at all. The remote sessions remains intact, and there are no messages in the event viewer.

Also, we are not applying any policies. Its very strange, as when I log in with administrator privilidges, I am able to open up the folders fine, so it appears to be permissions, but I am unable to locate where and why.

Any ideas?

Sorry - I meant, what is supposed to happen, should the hyperlink open the document in a browser window or launch Excel/Word....???? If you "hover" over the Hyperlink is it recognised as a link....????
Is there any difference between the local and remote user accounts...???

Is there a Firewall in place....???
