Hi

We currently have one server on our small site that controls internet access. A third party company has recently been on our system to configure our server to allow us access to their software system over the internet as we are moving to an MSP arrangement with them.

Ever since they have been playing with our server we have had nothing but trouble with our internet conncection. It is really, really slow, sometimes it wont connect or if you are on the intetnet and try to move to a new site it wont connect to that site or will take ages to connect. The main error i get is

"11001 - Host not found
Internet Security and Acceleration Server

Technical Information (for support personnel)

Background:
This error indicates that the gateway could not find the IP address of the Web site you are trying to access."

I saw they were changing various things to do with the network connection and DNS server etc and i am new to this so i don't know how to go about tracing and fixing this problem.

Can anyone help me?

Scott

Scott,

You should start by asking the company what changes they made and in the future require any such vendor to provide a list of any changes they make on your server.

Sounds like your DNS is messed up. Verify that your DNS settings only list your internal servers as DNS. Your ISP dns should only be configured in the DNS snap-In under the forwarders tab.

Check your ISA rules and see what is happening there too.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark
