HI!

I am using the Report Designer to print an invoice based on a query. I have query disiplaying proper info. In the Designer I have info such as customer name, address, date, etc, showing properly. I need billing info to list below, based on purnumb. I have cursor ordered by custno, purnumb, ordernumb.
I tried using a grouping on purnumb to put all purchases on same page but no matter how I have tried, I get header info correct and only one purnumb on a page.

Will someone please give me push in the right direction. This is my first time to do anything but just a straight listing with the report designer.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Mike, Thanks for the response. However, I tried that. Made custno the outer group and purnumb the inner. I still get the same results. Each row in the query is a separate page. Where do I need to look? In the query design or report. Browsing the query, each row shows all data for an order #, ordered by customer#,purchase# and order#. This is what I need.

What settings in the report designer do I need to check to keep all purchases grouped. It seem such a simple thing, but I can't seem to get it going.

Appreciate any suggestions.

Hi Geoff!

Yes, I do. Is that right?
Thanks for the response. I seem to be running around in circles here.

Mike,

I was pretty sure I had tried it that way but I tried it again and the result is the same. All of the top (page header) info is printed correctly with ONE purnumb in the detail.

In my sample data, one invoice should have 3 purnumb lines, in ordrnumb order. What I get is a new invoice with correct info for one of the ordrnumbs.

Appreciate any ideas.

OK, I have it now so I will close out the thread. I set purnumb group to 'start a new page'.

I am not sure just what was going on, but it had to do with something I had drawn on the form - line, rectangle or something that I was not seeing. Happen to see it when selecting a group. Deleted it and things fell in place.

Thanks for all of your comments. Would have been hard for you to help with that one![smile]
