Hi Everyone:

I am sure that there is a simple solution, for this but I am obviously doing something wrong.

I have a report that is grouped by the "type" field into A, B, C, D.

I want to make it so that when the report prints instead of having the codes A, B, etc. I can have the detail
A= New Members
B= Renewing

I have been working in the control source section and have been trying to develop an IIf statement and it isn't working.

I am really new to reports, so I am not even sure if this is the right way to go about it. I am contemplating putting the captions in another table and then pulling them in that way, but I feel like there should be a way to do it from within the report.
Thanks!

Ideally, you should have a small lookup table with the type and the title stored in fields. You can then simply add the table to your report's record source.

IMO, any type of expression is the wrong answer. Your data belongs in tables, not expressions.
