Am on the very last step with the gold sync. To give you an understanding I have ran goldmine.exe from 10.1.10.3 and set up as a server, One thing that’s strange is how does that computer know to run that app as a server if nothing was installed, I simply ran the .exe and did the steps to configure it as a server. I have installed the correct license on the remote un-docked cpu and am attempting to connect.
When I try to connect I get an error in my Process monitor from the undocked PC saying its not reachable. I am doing an internal sync, I notice when I run the wizard that it gives you a network and internet radio button. I pick the Internet and have tried the goldsycn server 10.1.10.3 and the goldmine server 10.1.10.2 ips both coming back with the same error, however I can only enter in these numbers when I have the internet tab selected from sycn wizard. Then I tried to do the network tab, which gives you no areas to enter in any ips addresses' I assume that if you select network the application knows to search for the goldsync or goldmine server?

For clarity, I really do want to know how the goldsycn server app knows to run from 10.1.10.3. all I did was run the .exe from 10.1.10.2, then logon with my name and password, and configure the goldsync that way, it did however recognize the computer name of 10.1.10.3 as BBS-Server1 (which is indeed the cpus name), but It seems if I close that window that nothing will continue to run. Any thoughts?

For the purpose of this test I am running internally, on a 10.1.10.x subnet. I will try later from an outside source. I have forwarded the port on my router 5993 to 10.1.10.3 which should be the Goldsync server, I have also tried to put it at 10.1.10.2 which is the Goldmine server. Any thoughts?

The first question I have is are you using GoldSync or the Synchronisation wizard in GoldMine.

If you are using GoldSync there are a number of steps that need to be setup to use GoldSync correctly. Information can be found here

If you are using the wizard you have to setup the wizard at the server and at the remote with the appropriate settings so that when the remote requests to sync the server is running to respond.
