Hello there,

I'm fairly new to Gentran, and as I have no formal training I could use some help. We're currently running Gentran Server for Windows. We are using a SQL Server database with it. I am trying to update the standards with the latest CD and I'm not sure how to go about it. Can anyone help? From what I understand there is a Standards.MDB file on the CD that should overwrite and existing Standards.MDB on the Server which Gentran resides, but there is no Standards.MDB file on our Gentran Server. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Parag R.Shah

We have the same software and database as you. If I remember correctly, when you put in the CD, it will ask you to install it. If you installed the Gentran database correctly, the standards will update correctly.

You can also go to Sterlingcommerce.com and got to the user forums for help too.

A .mdb file is an Access DB file. There is probable an update routine that writes to the SQL Server DB. There is probable a stadard table in the DB.

Forget about whether standards are already existing or not.

Create a system DSN for the standards - Control Panel> Admimistrative tools > ODBC Data source Adm > System DSN > Add > *.mdb > Give name/desc/select database(you have to copy the standards.mdb on the CD to a folder on your server and select that here)

Hope this helps.
