help with Gentran and Visual Manufacturing

I am very new to EDI and am in the process of learning Gentran. We also will be using Lily's Visual Manufacturing. Im a little confused as to how I get the data tables from Visual into Gentran. Maybe I have to create them? Does anyone have any sample maps from these two programs that I might be able to load on my system so that I might better understand how these two programs integrate
