help with function

I am relatively new for Microsoft access and to programming but I have a query that takes the value two fields and multiply them and put the result alias filed. What I would like to have is to check the result whether it is greater than 1500 and If it is , split the result into two places: the first 150o in one and the remaining into another textbox in a report so that I can multiply the two values with two different coefficient.
Any would in this matter would be appreciated.
