Hello there, I need some help with a problem that my company has had since the dawn of time.
We have a Demon ISDN line and Demon e-mail account.
Every half an hour (or everytime the ISDN line is opened up a mail kick is started and the mail sitting on Demon's server should be downloaded. This happens most of the time. But every now and then the mail starts to queue up, and up and up. Rebooting the router, firewall, ISDN box, doesn't solve the problem.
We ring up demon who do a "manual" mail kick which doesn't work, when they check it out, the thing they come back with is. A: there is a mail kick in progress (even though rebooting the router should cancel any kick in progress). B: The ISDN Bandwidth is maxed out.
We have tried and tried but cannot find any reason the line might be maxed out, and any reason why a mail kick would be in progress but not downloading files.
The answer is always wait, sometimes 10 minutes, sometimes 10 hours. But in the end, it all clears up and starts running perfectly.
If anyone has any ideas that might shed some light on the situation it would be most appreciated.
Kind Regards
Kevin
