I was recently set up to dual boot Windows XP and Windows 7. They were each positioned on there own 500 GB hard drive. I decided that I wanted to dual boot Windows 7 and Windows 8. I booted up into my XP os and installed Windows 8 on my XP hard drive. When Windows 8 was installed it no longer saw my Windows 7 hard drive and would not dual boot. How do I edit the MBR so that I can dual boot Windows 7 and the new Windows 8? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If the original booting files were on the XP Partition, and if you Formatted that Partition you may have lost the original booting files and access to Windows 7.

Try using the Windows 7 DVD and running a Startup Repair to see if that can fix the problem for you.

Thanks Linney, One of your supplied links pointed me to EasyBCD which allowed me to add the Windows 7 OS back in. Worked like a charm. Many thanks!!
