help with disconnections.......

I am currently using a Linksys EtherFast Cable/DSL Router with 4-port switches and my ISP is Comcast. There are two computers hooked up the router and is used primarly for personal/home usage. Both computers use AIM (Instant Messaging service) and use Internet Explorer. Recently I have been running into problems with whenever I go to websites I start to experience delays and eventually a temp. disconnection. Can anyone help me problem shoot this error.........
