OK, here's the scenerio:

In July, we switched telcos because of pricing and the fact that we were installing Symposium Call Center, which is now up and running on our Option 11C.

Last month, I received a bill from our old telco for 12 DID trunks that I thought were removed when we went with two PRIs supplied by our new telco. When I spoke to the new telco people, they asked me to find out if there was any activity on these DID trunks. So... I disabled them in our switch, and I had people reporting incoming busy signals (which meant the trunks were obviously in use). I then re-enabled the 12 trunks and all was well.

What exactly should I do now? Is it possible to remove those trunks and have the new telco put them over our two existing PRIs (we have the capacity)? Or should I leave the trunks there and have the new telco buy them from the old telco? Or convert them to a third PRI? I'm soooo confused, and our new telco is just as confused as I am. I'm also a newbie in all this and need step-by-step help.

Thanks,
-Tom in Scranton, PA

It sounds like your still getting your incoming calls from your old telco on your old trunks and not your new pri's. There is alot to consider on this transition from your old trunks to the PRI.
I have 5 of PRI Trunked switches here in town and I've been in the same spot. It sounds like when you disabled your trunks you were in essance busying out your incoming lines to the switch. People were probably dialing one of your listed DID's and when the CO presented the call to the Trunk group, it was down(you disable it).
