Help with DB2 Generated columns

I read about the Generated Always As command on db2 documentation, but was wondering if it can be used to concatenate two columns that are varchars. The example they had was to add up to double columns. Any help would be great!

Why not simply use the CONCAT function or || operator to get one column out of the varchars?
