I would like to have a lisp routine to combine text strings by selecting them on the screen. What i am trying to accomplish is this. i have text strings that are in this format 14349 and 14353. i would like to select these text strings to have a final string of text that would look like this. 14349-53. How would this be accomplished? the numbers to be combined are different all of the time.

Do you want the combined text in place of the text of the lowest number, or the first text you select, and the other erased? Are these only "text" items or mtext also?

I want the only text left displayed to be the 14349-53. The lower number would (i assume) to be selected first. The text could be text or mtext. however the mtext version would mostl likely be displayed like this in a paragraph form.

14349
14350
14351
14352 etc.
