Ok, I want to start off by saying I'm not much of a DNS wiz. Recently, I ran into trouble setting up a comcast business class email account in Outlook 2007 (Windows Vista). After some tech support calls to both comcast, and my domain registrar, I'm pretty sure I narrowed the problem down. I'm told Outlook 2007 uses "auto discover", and therefore, you need a CName entry named autodiscover.<my domain name>.com to which resolves to Comcasts exchange server. I can ping the name of the comcast exchange server, but not the Autodiscover.<domain name>.com name. However, I can ping it from any pc outside of my LAN. So, what is it that I have to do to allow my DNS servers resolve my autodiscover Cname record to the comcast exchange server? Note that I have 2 internal DNS servers, but the Cname record I discussed here is the one I created on my domain registrars site.
