Hi I'm a new tech working with nortel. I just obtained a used CallPilot 100. I was able to enter arp -a at the command prompt and get an ip of 192.168.110.255 but for some reason i just can't seem to ping it after setting my laptop to 192.168.110.254. I need to access the manager. can anyone help please?

192.168.110.255 is a network broadcast address. No host will have that address.

As Curly points out plug a serial cable in and reboot. You see the address.

Thanks for the quick response. I'm going to try that.

thanks again i was able to get through with your help.

I have a CP100 that Bought back from a customer when they went VOIP. I read this post and tried to determine the IP address. I know it is default IP cause I can connect to it using IE.Tried using the 9 pin cable but nothing happened. Do I need a null adapter and or a cable with pins 2 and 3 reversed?

Thanks in advance,

RBT
