I am new to the use of Partner phone systems. I usually work on a Definity G3R. I have a manager who wants his admin to assist with his calls when he is busy or out of the office. What he would like to happen is for the call to ring at his desk 3 times. If he does not answer it have the call ring to his admin’s desk. If she does not answer it the call should go to his voicemail. The manager is extension 11. The admin is extension 10. Calls come into the system through an auto attendant where callers are told to dial extension 11 to get to him.

If the above coverage path is not possible, can the admin have an appearance of extension 11 on her phone to answer it?

We do this stuff all the time on a Definity G3R. It seems like it would be possible to do something like this on the Partner.

Hi Jeff,
Set, in system programming, the coverage rings (#320) to 3. Program coverage using Feature 20 XX XX (from ext XX to ext XX). If you program the originating extension on the target extension, it will flutter green on a covered call. The vm coverage will be added to the cover rings when covered.

If the call came into ext 11 then covered to ext 10 doesnt the call end up in ext 10's voicemail box? How do I get the call back into extension 11's voicemail box?

Hi Jeff,
No, the call should continue to the original extension's mailbox. ie the call in your example should end up in 11's mailbox as it's being covered by 10, not intercepted.
