I need to build a web site with the capacity to buy merchandise and search a site for merchandise where, for instance, the search yields all the products requested. How do I do this? Is there a tutorial out there that can show me from scratch how to use asp?

thanks,

disfasia

If you don't know ASP, then you are taking on quite a task.

Have a look at If there's no help there, there will be links to sites that will have help.

How much ASP experience do you have??? I can help you with every step, BUT, I need you to undestand what I'm telling you in order for you to know how the site will work, otherwise you will be in big trouble my friend.

i am a beginner, but a quick learner. I assume I need to write everything in html and then a separate text file as .asp ?

thanks,

JrClown is right. ASP is not that difficult, but you do need to understand what you are doing.

well, i am going through tutorials litterly taking the asp and html files, putting them online and seeing if they work...so far, even the tutorials do not help me. is there a protocal for naming the asp file? the html file? also, i use a mac and am using simple text to work asp...is this ok?

You must also read about ODBC which will be your connection from your pages to your Database.

Let me rephrase that. You may want to read about Database connectivity and find the best method for you to learn.
