In an outlook form we have created, we are trying to
extract some numbers from it.
There is field call remaining minutes. Inside remaining minutes there are about 8 differt options that people fill out depending how long a job will take.
What I want to do is add together those mins. I know how to
make a running total of the fields. But I can't get cr's to
add together these values.

I.e

REmaining minutes
Desktop =25
schedule=10
Mechanical = 200

I can't seem to find the fields to add them together..
Help
PLease.

Thanks
Peter ...Once again stuck@!

When trying that..I get number, boolean string......
expected here and moves the cursor to the desktop part?

God I hate this program!!!!

Do I make it a formula.. What are the step by step procedures.

Mudflap,

I've seen your comments at least twice now about how you hate Crystal Reports. It is not a hard program, you need to invest in some training and you should be fine. Software Support for Macola, Crystal Reports and Goldmine

unfortuanltly...The company doesn't have the money for the training. Nor do I. I am being laid off in a month.
Crystal reports was kind of dumped on my lap to work with.
I do need training ..
I am more frusterated then anything.'

Thanks for all your help guys.. I am going to drop this
and tell my boss I can't get it to work without outside help.

Don't give up! I remember those days and I seriously thought about blowing up my computer on more than one occasion. A little patience, and some good contacts and you will be fine!

One of the problems that I see in your posts is that you are not familiar with the differnt kinds of data (strings, numbers, dates, etc) and so when you ar etrying to write your forumlas they are not matching up (you re putting numbers into string variables and compoaring dates to numbers, etc)...

I havent done reporting off of outlook but I am assuming that a database is a database is a database...

dates go with dates, numbers to numbers, and so forth and so on. if they are not the same, then you hve to force them to be the same within your formulas.

make sense?
