Hi everyone. I need help with getting my new server to join with my existing forest. I have a temp server with 2003 from our main office with the Schemas, Roles and trusts and all that this new server needs to acquire. Any adivse? thanks.

Run DCPROMO, select join existing domain, install DNS during installation and configure it. Once the server is joined you should be all set. Make sure it can replicate with the DC's in your home office. I would recomend that you make it a GC too. However, I'm curious to know why you have a temp DC from the main office. Does this remote office not have a dedicated WAN link?

They sent down the temp server with the Global Catalog, Schema's, Roles, and all that stuff..and my new server is supposed to be able to pick up all those and join the forest.

Then do as I suggested, however my question remains: is this office WAN connected? If it's not you are going to have serious issues.

Yes, it is WAN connected...they are up in canada and we have a connection to them.
