Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to print a report from access, and then have a document from Word print after the access report. It is basically reading a record from Access then I want it to print out, then read a the document from Word and print it out. Then go to the next record and repeat. This will then go to a printer setup w/ duplexing. I am just in a big quandry on how to do this. Is there a way to get this Word Doc into my Access Report to print after each record. I can't export the access report to Word because it has lines for columns that just do not show up when I try to export it into an RTF or HTML format.

Thanks in advance for any help or advice...

Hi,
I don't know if this helps or not, but I needed something similar. So, instead of trying to import a Word document into my report, I created a two page report. My 2nd page contains the text of the Word document.
However, you can insert a Word document using the Insert menu item. Just click on Insert, then Object, scroll down to Microsoft Word Document. Please be aware that I have never tried this, so I don't know if it really works or not. HTH, [pc2]

You need to use OLE automation to start a word application from Access. You can then open or create specific documents in Word and transfer data between Word and Access.

The automation part is easy, but navigating within Word via automation is not. You need to have the VBA documentation for Word. Word VBA has many different objects and properties that Access doesn't have. It's not something that can be explained in a few postings.

Not sure if this will help you or not, but having just tried to do something similar, there's a lot of information at the msdn website. If you do a search for document, or OLE, of the knowledge base, you should find some information.

The best articles I found were -
- The MS Word Language Reference, which explains all the properties of a word document,

- How to automate word by using VB to create a new document,
- then there's also one called "How to use (OLE) Automation with Word". I don't have the link, but it's MSKBArticle # 237337, and it is in the MSWord2000 area.

HTH,
Janel
