Help with a filter (I think)

I think that I want to use a filter. I have a time tracker database which is confusing me.

I have a series of Projects that people can select from. I also have 12 types of Activities that can be performed.

When a user selects a Project I need to have a limited number of Activities that they can choose. These activities would apply to that Project type only. An example would be DBAdmin - users would only be able to select from a list of 5 activities from the 12 possible.

I tried Value lists but it didn't work since I couldn't figure out how to put in the various projects separately.

I don't even know where I should start, is this where I would use a filter?

Thank you. I think I should change my user name to Confused in Sault Ste. Marie.

If you're still needing an answer to this thread, what version of FileMaker are you using?

Thank you for responding. I no longer need help with this problem.
