Hello,

I have a client whose system started slowing down while working with OWP, and somehow the db got corrupt. His latest backup has a bad disk in it, so it won't restore. I would like to get into the data base so that I can get the last months transactions so we can use the prior good back up and update with the data extracted from the corrupt db.

Thanx,

Please tell us what is OWP?

Also, other than being slow, what evidence do you have that the database is corrupt? I understand if the backup was bad, but poor performance in and of itself does not necesarrily indicate a corrupt database.

OWP is the Peachtree software One Write Plus

I was told by the Peachtree folks that because it would not load, that it was corrupt, go back to the last backup.

The last good backup that we found was from 3/19/04, now I just need to mine the data out of the corrupt database to fix the data in the working copy.

Thanx

I am confused.....So is the system just slow or not working at all?

Sorry about that,

The system had slowed down noticably when the crash occured, now the system seems fine, but the database is corrupt so that I have to recerate the data, and I wanted to get the information out of the database. I tried to access it with Access, but that didn't work, so I am looking for a way to get the data out of the database. I guess I need to know what format Peachtree uses...

Thanx,

Peachtree uses btrieve, and you can normally retrieve the records through the .ddfs. Please look and see if you can find any *.ddf files.

OWP or One Write Plus is no version of Peachtree I have ever heard of....are you sure it is Peachtree?
