Hopefully someone can help me along here???
I am charged with cloning a server for a temporary relocation (3+months) until it is replaced. Using a virtually identical box (Shuttle XPC SK41G -> SK43G both Via chipsets) I cloned the HDD old to new. Everything is there but when I boot the clone X wont start due to errors. Most likely its in the X config. This version of RH uses XF86 version 4.2.1 and although I've tried running redhat-config-xfree it still won't config properly. I've even tried the Ctrl+Alt+(+/-) keys which don't help. I cannot get X running.
I've been scouring Google groups and web as well as numerous forums for ideas, none of which seem to help.
Can anyone please provide some general pointers as to how to solve this other than disabling X altogether?
Thanks,
B
